7 Major Game Releases in October 2025
Ghost of Yotei
October 2nd
The sequel to the 2020 megahit Ghost of Tsushima is now available, and it is worth every penny. Ghost of Yotei takes the franchise in different directions by transitioning from a more linear experience to an open world game. Ghost of Yotei will have you explore the areas around Mount Yotei as Atsu, the new main character, who is seeking revenge for the murder of her family at the hands of the Yotei Six. A legendary group of violent warriors led by Lord Saito.
Battlefield 6
October 10th
Battlefield is back, baby! After many years and several terrible decisions by EA and Dice, we finally get a battlefield game that is a return to form. No crazy gimmicks, no weird settings, just a military shooter that wants you to relish in the fun, chaotic destruction that is a true successor to the battlefield games we know and love. If you love shooters, intense action, working with squads, and destroying every building in your path, then you can't pick a better game than Battlefield 6.
Little Nightmares 3
October 10th
Developed by Supermassive Games instead of the original developers at Tarsier Studios. The third part in the little nightmare series is making a big change with this new iteration by making the entire game a cooperative experience. This is a bold new direction for a game series that has primarily been single player experiences. Hopefully, despite changes in developer and game style, Little Nightmares 3 is able to provide a compelling horror game experience.
Pokémon Legends Z-A
October 16th
Pokémon Legends Z-A is the latest Pokémon game to be released by Nintendo. Developed by Gamefreak to be released on both the Switch 1 and Switch 2, this new title appears to expand on the foundation established by the Pokémon Arceus game. New locations, Pokémon, friends, and rivals await you, Pokémon fanatics, on October 16th.
Ninja Gaiden 4
October 21st
A new Ninja Gaiden game in 2025, and it's made by Platinum Games, who, by many, are considered to be the best action game developers of all time. Platinum games gave us Bayonetta, Nier Automata, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, Vanquish, and The Wonderful 101, so I definitely understand why many give them such praise. Combined with the minds at Team Ninja, Ninja Gaiden 4 is shaping up the be a massive hit, and here's to hoping that Ryu Hayabusa's return is one that stays.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
October 21st
The long-awaited sequel to one of the most beloved RPGs of all time is finally releasing. People have been waiting for a sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade for over twenty-one years. Now, after all that time and many developer changes, the game is finally seeing the light of day. I hope this game lives up to everyone's expectations; the last thing I want is for this to be another "Shenmue 3" situation.
The Outer Worlds 2
October 29th
Obsidian Entertainment is back again with another Outer Worlds game. For those of you who dont know, Obsidian Entertainment are responsible for giving us the amazing Fallout New Vegas, the most beloved Fallout game out of the entire franchise. When The Outer Worlds 1 was initially announced, everyone was hoping it was going to be Fallout in space. Unfortunately, expectations were higher than they could deliver as the game didn't offer the experience we hoped for. The Outer Worlds 2, however, is shaping up to be a sequel that attempts to alleviate the issues presented in the first game. If you are interested in Western RPGs full of interesting companions and shaping the narrative based on your choices, then you will want to keep an eye on this one.
